Mental Health & Wellness, Substance Use, and Suicide Prevention Education
Prevention services seeks to raise awareness of mental health and substance use challenges. To increase the well being for individuals, families and the community. Prevention services reach individuals form young childhood to older adulthood and strives to:

To take action prior to the development of serious mental health or substance use issues; and

To catch mental health issues and substance use issues in their earliest stages to prevent long-term suffering.
BHS Prevention services provides educational workshops and professional trainings to anyone that lives, works and serves the communities of Madera County.
- Educational Topics can include:
- Self-care
- Stress
- Common Mental Health illnesses (e.g. Anxiety, Depression)
- Trauma and trauma-informed services
- Substance Use and Gambling Addiction
- Suicide Awareness
Certified Training include:
- Mental Health First Aid-Adult
- Mental Health First Aid-Youth (for individuals that work with youth)
- SafeTALK
- ASIST
