ATTENTION CCW APPLICANTS AND CCW HOLDERS
THE NEW CCW PERMIT SYSTEM IS HERE!
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has streamlined the Concealed Carry Permit (CCW) process by allowing both new and renewal applicants to fill out an application online.
With the new system, permits can be applied for any time, day or night, weekends or holidays at the comfort of your home. The Sheriff’s Office strives to improve the way we help the public and want to make the CCW process as easy as possible.
To apply online, residents should go to https://maderaca.permitium.com/ccw/start or click the Permitium tab below. A link to the new secure online application system will appear, allowing applicants to create an account and submit information for a background check, and schedule appointments with our Records Division.
Residents can choose to receive notifications by email, text message, or phone call. A valid driver’s license or state ID card verifying residency is required along with two other forms of proof of residency in Madera County. New CCW applicants can apply prior to the 8-hour firearms training course.
Applicants who wish to renew an existing permit must create an online account with the new system and follow all the prompts. Renewal permits require proof of residency along with a 16-hour firearms training course.
