About
The Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Youth Coalition was created by and for Madera County youth to lead the movement against tobacco use. Since its inception in January 2019, SWAT members have been actively addressing tobacco control issues affecting their community through outreach, policy change, and service.
Target Issues
- Youth access to flavored tobacco
- Youth tobacco use prevention
- Smoke-free multi-unit housing
Get involved
SWAT members benefit from: building leadership and public speaking skills, boosting their resume, earning letters of recommendation, going on field trips like summer camp and Youth Quest, and meeting other teens that are active in their community.
All motivated youth in Madera County ages 13-18 are encouraged to join. Getting involved is easy!
