The Madera County Dept. of Public Health (MCDPH) Lab provides a wide range of infectious disease analysis for our local community. This helps to protects the public's health by assessing the rate of incidence of and preventing spread. The lab also provides testing for abused drug screening, water bacterial analyses and consultation to health care providers.
Infectious Disease Analysis
MCDPH lab performs tests on human & animal specimens, and environmental samples for:
- Rabies
- STDs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis)
- Tuberculosis
- Parasitic diseases
- Fungal diseases
- Salmonella
- E. coli
- Other enteric diseases
Water Testing
Bacterial testing of potable water from private domestic wells is available for $15 per test. Call (559) 675-7893 for specimen bottles & water sampling instructions. Convenient drop off locations are in the mountains & valley (addresses below). Private domestic wells are not regulated by the state and therefore no certification is required to test.
