What You Need to Know

  • The flu vaccine is the best protection against the flu.
  • Check with your primary care provider or local pharmacies to see when you are able to get your Flu vaccine. 
  • You can get both a flu vaccine and a COVID-19 vaccine in the same visit.
  • Everyone 6 months of age and older should get their yearly flu vaccine. Children 8 years and younger need 2 doses of flu vaccine the first time they get vaccinated.
  • The best place to receive a flu vaccine is at your doctor’s office, local pharmacies, or clinics.
  • Madera County Department of Public Health Immunization Program provides immunizations for children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program (VFC) and eligible adults to protect them against vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Flu vaccines will be available at Madera County Department of Public Health. To see if you qualify, call (559) 675-7893.
