Madera County Library's current access to curate and place missions in the Agents of Discovery® app is made possible through the California State Library's Park Pass Programming Grant.

The California State Library (CSL) Park Pass is available to all public libraries in the state and provides free vehicle day-use access to participating state parks. All a person needs is a California library card to borrow the pass, and entry to participating California State Parks becomes free!

Scavenger Hunt At Your Library! / Play from Anywhere

Visit any Madera County Library to take part in the Scavenger Hunt At Your Library! mission. Hidden amongst the shelves in the Children's and Young Adult (YA) areas you'll search for agents that you can scan to unlock their challenges!

This mission can also be played from anywhere, so you can set up a scavenger hunt of your own by printing and placing the Agents (Trigger Images) around your own home or back yard!

Take a hike! - Millerton Lake (Madera Side)

As a part of the California State Library's Park Pass Programming Grant we are proud to present the Agents of Discovery Mission " Take a hike!" developed in partnership with Millerton Lake State Recreation Area.

This mission is located on the Madera Side of Millerton Lake between the Fort Miller and Mono camping grounds with parking available for visitors at the Campfire Center Amphitheater.

This mission is themed around Leave No Trace, Fire Safety, and local plants and animals.

Madera - Courthouse Park

A short walk** from the Madera County Library, 121 North G Street, Madera, CA, 93637 you can visit the Madera County Courthouse Park, 200 West 6th Street, Madera, CA 93637 [Parking lot entrance] and explore the park to discover challenges themed around Animals in honor of the park's history of hosting a Zoo.

**If you choose to walk from the library to the park, we suggest utilizing the Gateway and Yosemite crosswalk [Near Yum Yum Donuts] as it is the safest route.

Chowchilla - Veterans Memorial Park

Oakhurst - Oakhurst Community Park

Just behind the Oakhurst Branch Library, 49044 Civic Circle Drive, Oakhurst, CA 93644 sits the Oakhurst Community Park where you can adventure around the park's main grass area to discover challenges themed around Conservation and Fire Safety.

We ask that you utilize the main parking area in front of the library and go left when facing the main entrance to get to the park as there is no passage to the park from behind the library.

North Fork

Our North Fork Agents of Discovery Mission begins at the North Fork Branch Library, 32908 Road 222

North Fork, CA 93643 and through the town of North Fork.

The challenge path is designed so that you can stay on the West side (same side as the library) of Road 222 where there are more sidewalks. the challenge path ends just across the street from Gas N' Stuff.

North Fork's Mission is themed around Conservation and Fire Safety.
