Bookmobile Collection
The Bookmobile carries a range of items, including:
- Books
- Books in Large Print
- Audiobooks on CD
- DVDs
- STEM Kits
Please Note:
The catalog status of "In" at the Bookmobile Branch does not necessarily mean that the item is on board the Bookmobile itself. The Bookmobile collection is a popular browsing collection which may vary depending on the demographic of the stops being served that day.
Circulation Policies and Procedures
Items checked out on the Bookmobile may be kept for four weeks, or until the next return visit to the stop of original check out.
Items may be returned to the Bookmobile or any San Joaquin Valley Library System (SJVLS) Library.
Most items may be renewed twice. Renewals can be done in-person, by telephone at (559) 675-7871 or by accessing your account online via the ValleyCat (Online Catalog) Website or App [Apple | Google Play]
Note: The first renewal is automatic where as the second renewal requires some form of contact mentioned above.
No late fines are charged for any items returned; however, items are considered lost when they become four weeks overdue. The cost of the item and a processing fee are charged for lost and damaged items.
Unresolved fees may result in the loss of library privileges and/or referral to a billing agency.
Library Cards
Madera County Library is part of the San Joaquin Valley Library System (SJVLS) therefore, a library card from any SJVLS associated library will work at the Bookmobile. You may apply for a card and establish a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in person at the Bookmobile.
Please bring Valid State or Federally Issued Identification and Proof of Residence (any piece of mail with your name printed in the recipient field) to be able to receive a Library Card.
In addition to checking out books and other materials, you can access online resources and our digital library with your library card at any time.
