 Service members Civil Relief Act (SCRA)

  • The temporary suspension of judicial and administrative civil proceedings to allow military personnel to devote full attention to the defense of the nation.

Military Protections may include the following:

  • Stay of Proceedings
    •  If you are unable to attend a court hearing, you may be entitled to proceedings on hold for a certain period of time.
  • Stay of Execution
    •  Service members may request the court stop the enforcement of a judgment or garnishment if military service prevented you from complying with the order if it began prior to, during, or within 90 days after military service.
  • Expedited Modification of Support
    • You may request a review for modification prior to deployment out-of-state.
