The Self-Help Center provides assistance to parties that do not have attorney representation. The office cannot offer legal advice but can offer information and explain options regarding child support cases.

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) administers federal government job training and worker dislocation programs, federal grants to states for public employment service programs, and unemployment insurance benefits. These services are primarily provided through state and local workforce development systems.

Madera County Department of Child Support Services offers a Driver’s Release Program to eligible persons: 18 years of age and older, registered with the Selective Service System, and sign release of information authorization forms.

First 5 cultivates strong relationships with community partners and support innovative and promising practices that are shown to improve outcomes. This is to ensure that all parents, particularly those living in poverty, understand the importance of their role as their child’s first teacher. This new strategic plan supports a “system-level perspective” that promotes seamless cross-agency coordination and improves the family experience and child outcomes.

“CAPMC focuses its resources on goal-oriented interventions as opposed to one-time assistance. While we do assist those in need of emergency shelter or help paying a utility bill, our true purpose is to end poverty in Madera County.”
California Department of Social Services- Golden Bear Pass
California’s state parks benefit the whole community. The parks are a fun and healthy way to connect with families, friends, and communities.
In support of California’s Outdoors for All initiative, State Parks and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) improved the application process to make it easier for all CalWORKs families to receive their free Golden Bear Pass and enjoy the benefits of the outdoors.
The pass provides FREE entry at 200+ state parks and beaches. The passes for the current application process are valid for the 2023 Calendar year. The Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks) supports programs to make sure everyone can enjoy the state’s parks.
