Welcome to the County of Madera Statement of Economic Interest (SEI)

The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors office is responsible for accepting and processing Form 700 – Statement of Economic Interests (SEI) on behalf of “Designated Positions” which is any officer, employee, member, or consultant of an agency whose position is designated in its conflict-of interest code.

The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors if considered an agency's “Filing Officer” retains the original statements, has the authority to fine, is required to review said form, maintain a log, and follow-up on non-filers.

Responsibilities/duties of the “Filing Officer” are as follows:

  • Determine if statements have been timely filed.
  • Notify all persons who have failed to file by deadline.
  • Notify and assess fines for late filings
    • $10.00 each day up to $100.00
  • Amendment Requests
    • Notify all persons who appear to have filed incomplete or incorrect statements

Filing Deadlines:

  • Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interests - due NO later than 30 days after assuming or leaving office
  • All Others - Generally due by April 1 of each year

NetFile - FILER ACCESS PORTAL

The Filer Access Portal is a web-based, data entry filing system that allows individuals to submit their Statement of Economic Interests disclosure reports mandated by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) to the Electronic Filing System free of charge.

PUBLIC ACCESS PORTAL

The Political Reform Act (Gov. Code sections 81000-91014) requires most state and local government officials and employees to publicly disclose their personal assets and income. They also must disqualify themselves from participating in decisions which may affect their personal economic interests.

Statements of Economic Interests are public documents.  Any member of the public may inspect and copy any statement. Forms must be available as soon as possible during the agency's regular business hours, but in any event not later than the second business day after the statement is received.
