The following Committees are managed by Clerk of the Board staff:
Assessment Appeals Board
The Clerk of the Board is responsible for the administration of the Madera County Assessment Appeals Board. As such, it is charged with equalizing the valuation of the property for the purpose of taxation and appointing an Assessment Appeal Board.
City Selection Committee
The City Selection Committee is comprised of the mayors of the incorporated cities of Chowchilla and Madera. The Clerk of the Board serves as secretary to the City Selection Committee (CSC).
Various California codes require that the City Selection Committee appoint members of certain public entities. When a vacancy occurs or will occur, the agency contacts the Clerk of the Board to request that a City Selection Committee meeting be scheduled.
