End of Life Service Information
Disposal Fee:
$25.00 disposal per small animal.
No livestock, please contact Best Way Animal Disposal Inc. at (209)769-4629 for large animal disposal: equine, bovine, caprine, any ruminant animals, etc.
Euthanasia:
Sometimes the hardest part of being a loving pet owner is making the decision to have your pet humanely euthanized. However, we at the Madera Animal Shelter do not have a licensed veterinarian on staff. Please contact your local veterinarian for euthanasia services or concerns.
The shelter may assist on limited cases or circumstances; if they are owned pets that are either experiencing a medical emergency such as a traumatic injury or have suddenly become ill or those who are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency such as age-related illnesses or those whose pain is currently managed. A veterinarians note must be presented at time of evaluation. However, euthanasia may not be guaranteed upon evaluation of the pet by the shelter Director or Supervisor. We have the right to refuse euthanasia services if we feel it is not required. We cannot accept pets for euthanasia from people who are not the actual owners of the pet. Friends, family or other people may not request euthanasia of an animal for anyone else. Please remember our facility does not have a licensed veterinarian on staff.
