Don't surrender-Home to Home: Pet Rehoming & Adoptions

Keeping animals out of shelters through direct home placement.

 What is Home To Home?

Home To Home helps pets stay out of shelters. It is a unique, direct-to-adopter program for pet owners looking to re-home their animals. In just a few simple steps, pets can find a loving new home without ever seeing the inside of a shelter.  It’s free to use for both owners and adopters, and gives animals needing a new home the best of both worlds: their current owner can find the best fit, and their adopter can learn all about their personality and preferences first-hand. It’s a win-win for all!

Home To Home is an interactive website created to help shelters and rescues. It provides a positive and proactive method to re-home pets as well as provide support to pet owners in their time of need, when keeping a pet is no longer an option. It gives people the opportunity to find new, loving homes for their pets without having to surrender them at a shelter. Pets go from one home into another, because there is no place like home.

Home To Home is about supporting owners as well as their pets. People don’t open their hearts and homes to animals thinking that one day they will give up their companions. Changes happen and re-homing a pet may well be the kindest and most responsible thing to do.

The Home To Home program gives owners the peace of mind of choosing a new home that is a good fit. It reduces stress on pets by eliminating shelter stays, and it leaves more shelter resources available to animals with no other options.  In addition, Home To Home gives potential new owners a chance to learn more about the animals directly from the current owner.

There’s no place like home. Sometimes pets need a new one. We understand. Find your pet a new home, or find a new pet for your home, by visiting https://mcas.home-home.org/

How it works:

The website will direct you in uploading your pet’s profile. The profile will be posted on the Home to Home website and shared on the Panhandle Animal Shelter Facebook page. Potential adopters will communicate directly with owners regarding their adoptable pet. Owners remain in charge of the entire re-homing process, pets stay out of the shelter avoiding stress and anxiety and adopters get to communicate with owners providing them with the opportunity to learn about their prospective new pet.

We understand the heartbreak associated with surrendering your pet to a shelter. The fact is we see it every day. Home-home.org was developed by Panhandle Animal Shelter (PAS), located in Sandpoint, Idaho. It was created to provide pet owners with an alternative to surrendering their animals to a shelter.
