Saving lives with the Melissa Howard Medical Fund

Melissa Howard dedicated her life not only to helping people, but animals of all shapes and sizes as well. She passed peacefully on November 3, 2019, but not before helping the animals one more time. Melissa requested a $5,000 donation be made to the Madera Animal Shelter in her name.

Melissa's generous donation helps us provide even better medical care for the injured or sick homeless animals brought to us, and with further donations from our community and fundraising from our staff and volunteers we can keep this fund running to help save even more sick and injured animals.

Here at the shelter, we see animals every day that are in need of medical help beyond our means. Thankfully, we are able to send these animals to the vet for treatments with the help of donations made to our medical fund through our volunteer group Friends of Madera Animal Shelter. 

To honor Melissa's memory, we have used her donation to kick-off our medical fundraiser. Your donations help make continued treatments possible!

• By calling Friends of Madera Animal Shelter at (559) 363-5106, Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm to donate by phone via credit/debit.
  • Informing FMAS the donation is for Melissa Howard Fund - Madera Animal Shelter.
• Mail-in a check or money order to the Madera Animal Shelter at 205 Tozer Street, Madera, Ca 93638
  • Note M. Howard Medical Fund on check or money order. 
• In person at the Madera Animal Shelter during business hours.
