The Fruit and Vegetable Quality Control Program is responsible for assuring that fruits, nuts, and vegetables entering the marketplace meet the minimum marking, container and quality standards set by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The crops tested in Madera County are grapes and pomegranates. This testing ensures that products of unacceptable maturity are not entering the marketplace.
