Employment Verification

Requests for written verification of employment must be emailed to the Auditor-Controller’s office at auditorpayrolldivision@maderacounty.com. The request must be accompanied by the employee’s written authorization to release information.

For verbal verifications, please contact the Human Resources office at (559) 675-7705, Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Human Resources is only able to confirm if the information you have is correct or incorrect.

Director of Human Resources
Department Head. Chief Negotiator for the County. Oversees all Human Resources functions and acts as Secretary to the Civil Service Commission. Advises County Administrative Officer and Board of Supervisors on all personnel matters.

Sandi Edwards

Assistant Director of Human Resources
Assists the Director with HR functions. Handles investigations of misconduct, discrimination, and harassment. Oversees benefits programs, Affordable Care Act compliance, and return to work interactive process.

Human Resources Assistant
Works closely with the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Acts as the Human Resources receptionist. Assists with employee paperwork and helps Human Resources staff as needed.

Brittany Needham

Human Resources Manager
Oversees payroll and benefit processing. Acts as the HR systems administrator. Organizes countywide staff development programs including New Employee Orientation and onboarding practices. Maintains the HR website and Madera County Careers social media. Develops written processes, conducts various data analyses, and constructs HR reports.

Human Resources Technician I
Processes payroll functions for new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Assists with the employee onboarding process. Takes minutes during negotiations, and assists in the preparation of materials for negotiation sessions.

Recruitment & Leave Services

Reshonda Martinez

Interim Human Resources Manager
Oversees recruitment processes. Manages the employee leave programs and oversees the interactive discussion process countywide. Facilitates interactive discussion meetings on complex issues such as temporary modified duty assignments and placement on the reinstatement list. Works with Risk Management on issues involving workers' compensation and return-to-work. Acts as the departments safety coordinator.

Ariel Brown

Human Resources Analyst II
Participates in the implementation and administration of Countywide benefits programs to include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending programs. Assist with coordination of open enrollment and coordinating communication of the County’s benefits. Assist with managing short-term and long-term reasonable accommodations for FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, leaves of absence, etc. Works with departments to assess accommodation of temporary work restrictions.
